General Rental Information
The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence.
International renters/drivers also need an international driver's licence and a valid passport.

Changing booking
A booking can be changed before the rental begins in return for an alteration charge of AUD 30,00. Any payment in advance already made towards the rental shall not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded.
Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations can be made online or in writing and must be addressedto:

No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up!
Age Restrictions
Driver has to be in possession of a valid unrestricted driving licence for at least 2 years.
In Australia, the following rules apply for the minimum age:
21 years for vehicle groups ECMR, ECAR, EDMR, CDMR, CCAR
23 years for vehicle groups ICAR, FDAR, SDAR, IWAR, FWAR
25 years for vehicle groups PDAR, SVAR, FVAR
28 years for vehicle groups LFAR
A Young Driver Surcharge of AUD 16.50 per day applies for drivers under 23 years for car group ECMR, ECAR, EDMR, CDMR, CCAR.
All car groups not listed are not available for young drivers under 23 year of age.

Flexi-Tariff
All credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard and Visa - are accepted.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (VISA Electron).
Cheques are not accepted.
Cash Payment is not accepted.
To hire one of the following vehicles, customers must present two credit cards: PDAR, LFAR.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card, Diners Card.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).
TThe renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the start of rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of the rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus Value Added Tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
Generally
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.
General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of AUD 20 millions for material damages and with unlimited cover for personal injuries.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
For accidents through one's own fault, damages while parked, theft and for hit-and-run incidents caused by the opponent and/or in the case where the opponent has no insurance cover, the hirer ise to pay up to a maximum of the liability amount. The hirer is also liable for towing, repair and storage costs as well as for costs to cover lost profits for the duration of vehicle repairs or replacement.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.
Damages to the vehicle's chassis underbody, tyres, rims, hubcaps, windows and portable navigation systems are not covered by any insurance and will be charged to the renter.
All rates are inclusive of LDW.
Customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
AUD 2,750.- (ECMR, ECAR, EDMR, CDMR, CCAR, ICAR, SDAR, FDAR, PDAR, IWAR, FWAR, SVAR, FVAR, LFAR)
Top Cover LDW
If LDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Top Cover LDW to reduce/eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
If Top Cover LDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
550.- AUD (ECMR, ECAR, EDMR, CDMR, CCAR)
770.- AUD (ICAR, SDAR, FDAR, IWAR, FWAR, SVAR, FVAR)
1,100.- AUD (PDAR, LFAR)
For vehicles in group LFAR the non-waiverable responsibility can not be reduced.
Tire and Glass Coverage (GT)
Tire and Glass Coverage provides cover against the consequences of damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and backwindow.
If GT is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and backwindow.
If GT is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: AUD 0.-.
Delivery & Collection
During Opening Hours
Within city limits a Delivery/Collection Service charge of AUD 16.50 applies. For Delivery/Collection Service outside city limits please contact the local rental station.
Out of Opening Hours
Delivery/Collection Service is on request. Please contact the local rental station.
An out of opening hours charge for Delivery/Collection Service may apply.
Out Of Hours
Out of hour service is available at selected stations.
A charge of AUD 33.00 applies.
One-Way Rentals
National
For One-Way-Rentals within Sixt locations in Australia a charge of AUD 330.- up to AUD 550.- applies.
One-Way Rentals within city limits are free of charge.
International
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.
Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals and rentals to Tasmania are not allowed.
Premium Location Fee
A Premium location fee of AUD 33.- occurs for rentals at the airport station Coolangatta for each month or part thereof.
Registration Fee/Road Tax
In major Australian cities, tolls and road taxes may apply. These tolls and road taxes have to be paid directly by the renter in the toll stations or with the operators. Should the renter omit from the payment, a handling charge of AUD 38.50 will apply.

Refuelling Charge
All vehilces are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise our current refuelling charges will apply.
Contract Fee
A Contract Fee of AUD 4.95 applies on all rentals for each month or part thereof.

Handling Fee
A Handling Fee of AUD 1.60 applies on all rentals for each month or part thereof.
